Chief Accountant

Role and Candidate Profile

 

The sphere of responsibilities of the Chief accountant includes finance, accounting, tax management, as follows:

 

Management of Romanian and GAAP Accounting:

 –        Responsible for a proper day to day bookkeeping according to the principles of Romanian Accounting , Tax laws and the Group policies .

–        Acts as a Chief Accountant in terms of ‘final signature’ on released accounting sheets.

–        Organizing accounting and control on registration of accounting & financial data posted by the local company, aiming to reflect as accurate as possible patrimony, financial situation and achieved results, while ensuring fiscal accuracy as well.

 

 

Tax Management

–        Directing and controlling the taxation, internal audit & external audit and controls.

–        Conducting the relationship with leading institutions and the financial community.

–        Acting as an overall coordinator and first line advisor to the Management on tax-related matters & accounting.

 

Cost Accounting Management:

–        Cost Accounting related to the local company’s production activities

 

General

 –        Checking contracts and company’s documents to make sure that all legal and fiscal requirements are respected. 

–        Establish and pursue the financial strategy of the company

 

 The roles above include both supervisory work and self-involvement in day-to-day activities. A hands-on approach and attitude towards these work assignments is crucial and will be ranked first when assessing potential candidates for this job.

 

Qualifications

 

–        Extensive working experience in a similar position (or having partly held similar assignments) next to a (medium-sized) multinational company

–        Previous working experience with SAP

–        Fluency in verbal and written English

–        People management experience

–        Very good knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax issues

–        Experience in working on tax-related matters and in working with financial authorities

–        Experience in Reporting & Controlling within a multinational is an advantage

–        Some previous experience or knowledge of cost accounting

–        Hands-on management style

–        Career-oriented and desire to grow with a dynamic organization

Limited period contract - replacement for maternity leave - aprox 15 months. Located in Bucharest.
